Overweight

Overweight is a serious – growing – public health problem. It reduces quality of life and causes economic damage. The greatest health gains are realised when the battle against overweight starts with children and young people.

Objective

The Overweight programme focuses on preventing overweight among children, adolescents and young adults. It focuses on diet, exercise, and external factors such as: origin, social environment and genetic predisposition.

Activities

Examples of this programme's activities are:

  • promoting expertise, e.g., by study days;
  • developing and implementing activities for stakeholders who are involved with the target group;
  • carrying out Euroregional and EU-oriented projects.
